It depends in every country. Some countries do not support CryptoCurrency.
In the Philippines we are free to use CryptoCurrency and it is very convenient to buy/sell here. There are many ways to earn and use CryptoCurrency.
• We can use it as digital CASH.
• We can use it as an alternative to PayPal and other money transfers.
• We could earn it for free like in any paying sites, not only mining.
• We could earn just buying/selling it just like buying USD at lower rate and exchanging it to local currency when exchange rate go up.
The safest and easiest way to earn Bitcoin and Ethereum is just BUY and keep them OFFLINE using Keepkey or Trezor or Ledger Nano S and SELL or exchange to fiat currency when prices go up.
DO NOT invest anywhere online except for altcoin like STEEM. The best way to invest STEEM is thru "Steem Power" at Steemit.com

I have tried it once but sold it early. Made around 20$ profit.
Value changes quickly more over application takes their own percentage.
