Mama, Mama, she called please don´t let me go People are rushing and pushing and they don´t know where to go I am scared with all the faces of angst I see I wish that you would hug and cuddle me I can´t she replied we have to flee Just hold on to my coat and put your other hand in your pocket In the pocket of that beautiful red coat Don´t lose hold of my coat soon we will be free But Marisha lost sight of her Mom all but for a second She looked around for her face Her Mom was gone and no one beckoned No one called to her The big ugly train had started up loaded with people Her Mom was on that train Alas she would never see her in this life again Left alone with her beautiful red coat All was lost as she cried and cried To this very day she cries out Mama, Mama please come back.

Its to do with World War II and when the people were shoved and pushed into those trains that took them away. Based on a true story but I have changed it around but what happened in World War II is the same. Families split up and so on.

@FayeHazel The real need is for us never to forget that what happened then could happen in the future and avoid it all we can.

So why did the mother go away without her child?

She was taken Prisoner and put into the Camps that existed then. In other words she was snatched from her child.

@lovinangelsinstead21 However, children will get used with the same if the mother is not available dear. After all, mother's services is needed to some extent in their life.

@Sreekala I don´t know who took her on to look after her after that happened as her Father was also a victim of that terrible War against them. However her story is one of so many tragedies that happened then. This is for it never to happen again.

I do think that most children will cry out loud without their mom's presence. I am lucky to have my mom.

Its about the Holocaust in an indirect way and the girl who is skating if you notice she is wearing a type of red coat and she is skating to the music of Schindler´s List. Glad you have your Mom and mine is no longer here.

@Shavkat I read that book ages ago now its similar in a way to what happened in this story. In England I got to know a few Russians that had escaped going to Concentration Camps by fleeing Russia and surrounding countries. In the ice skating video she tells you a story but in her dancing on the ice.

@lovinangelsinstead21 I suddenly remembered the young little girl who wrote her library. Have you heard the book " The Diary of a Young Girl" by Anne Frank? It really touched my heart.

How tragic and sad your poem is. This sounds like something nasty Hitler was involved in. Love the figure skating video. I remember her performance!

@DianneN Does he really? Anyway I thought her expression said it all and the music and her way of interpretating it was majestic. Irina Slutskaya also skated to Schindler´s List just lovely also. It must be terrible to have to live with that memory on your arm for the rest of your life.

@DianneN Where did they manage to get to then to escape so much hate? These were Ukrainians that I knew and from other nearby Countries. So good that they made it all four of them and it must have been so terrible for them.

@lovinangelsinstead21 Schindler's list still makes me cry. It was a horrible time for so many. My own grandparents, all four of them, escaped the hatred in Russia years before. And, yes, he does! Enjoy your evening. Thanks for your support with Doodles.

Were lucky and blessed that we didn't live in their time. It's traumatizing for a child to loose his or her own mother and force to live every day with out parents.

So very lucky indeed. One day I thought I had lost my Grandmother at a Railway Station but it all turned out okay. The fright they gave me still stays in my memory.

She got caught up with people pushing and in a panic and who can blame them and the little girl was so small she lost grip of her Mother´s coat and never saw her again.

This is based on my next door neighbours who fled from around Russia somewhere and he was a Russian Ukraine and such a wonderful man and family and the long suffering wife who was lucky to get her two daughters to safety in England.

Very sad for that little girl to lose her mother like that. Sounds like something that would have happened in WWII when the Nazis were rounding up the Jews and sending them to concentration camps.

Its exactly what its about and the times that would have happened also. When I wrote it I thought not to mention the actual problem itself that was happening then.

It could be contemporary too, with so many thousands of families being split up in the refugee crisis that is happening in so many countries. Quite sad.
