All my life I was told I was either as stubborn as my mom and other people would say I was just like my dad. I was lucky, they were both very stubborn. My mom was Irish and English and my dad was German and English. I guess I couldn't win no matter what I did. I am still stubborn at times, (maybe most of the times), but at least I know it, I just won't give in and fess up to that to my family. How about you, who do you take after and are you stubborn to? How about your children and grandchildren?

You ask good questions. I'm not sure if an answer though I do notice as I get older that I've learned to collect pretty useless things like my Mom did all her life and my Dad taught me to love animals. The book part? Maybe from the lady I was named after.

I have noticed through the years that I have switched here and there. I use to be just like my mom then years later my dad and then again like my mom. I know I am a combination of both of them. My dad had the best sense of humor where I don't think my mom ever did.

Well, me and my sister have this thing. We have older siblings and my eldest sister is Miss proper and my eldest brother is laid back. My sister calls me my brothers name and I call her my elder sister name. ...... But they helped rraise us so.

I am not stubborn, both my parents were Italian, but I took from my father, I would say nothing from my mom, 100% from my dad.

I'm not sure who I take after. I think I have a bit of both parents' personalities in me.

I am like that to, sometimes more like one than the other but sometimes I look in the mirror and say Hello mom.

I use to be intransigent during my younger "know it all" days. Age has mellowed me and I'm a pushover especially where my grandchildren are concern.

I think we all are when it comes to the grandchildren. I am still like that and my grandsons are 21 and 17. My oldest one is in the Navy and I still text him a lot and we have fun while texting. We make each other laugh a lot. I do miss the young boys that I had so much fun with.

I look like my mother but I take after neither of my parents. I am stubborn to a certain degree. My daughter and I are alike in so many ways.

I take after my dad both in looks and temperament. My dad had a quick temper which I tend to have (although I'm better with age). We clashed terribly when I was young but got on better once I left home. My son doesn't take after either of us in temperament (he is a law unto himself!), my daughter is like her dad and my granddaughter can be quite high maintenance like her mother so heaven help me when she reaches teenage years

@ramapo17 One of my own kids was really difficult and still is at the age of 36 which is why I look after his child and the mother was even worse so I do worry that she may have inherited some of their traits.

@sprite1950 Isn't it funny how we think we are done raising our children and them many of us are very involved in our grandchildren's upbringing.

I wouldn't worry about her teenage years as usually by then they are so wrapped up in their schooling and friends that she won't even remember you are there.

I am stubborn in some situations. The strong personality is from my mom and calmness from my dad.

I get my humor and writing abilities from my Mom and my "Git-er-done" attitude from my Dad @ramapo17 .

I am half of both my parents, in looks. and can definitely be stubborn, which I don't know who I take after with that. but I am a lot like my mom, and grandmother with heart, attitude and loudness.

Well, I was born on my Mom's birthday so from a astrological standpoint I have many of her personality traits. From my Dad, I picked up his interest in certain leisure activities like golf. I am also sure some of my obsessive behavior comes from him and the occasional temper I display over dumb things.

Initially, my mom used to say that my nature resembles her's. But, as days are passing on, she says that I am completely different from both of my parents. I wonder then, who do I take after? I really don't know.

Maybe a different relative. Sometimes looks will skip a generation or resemble a relative instead of immediate family.

My father was a highly disciplined person and achieved much in life. My mother is a kind lady quite accommodating and accepting of others. My outlook is to assimilate whatever good I see in others and eschew the negatives. I am not stubborn but politely decline any unsolicited advice - siva
