For the second game in a row, Colorado took an early lead on their first shot of the game, and for the second game in a row, could not make it stick as the Nashville Predators beat the Avalanche 5-4 to take a 2-0 lead in the first round of the best of seven series of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Ryan Hartman's third period empty net goal proved the game winner in a penalty-filled contest (14 penalties were called in the game, as opposed to just seven in game one.) Hartman out hustled the Avalanche, not only negating an icing call, but sealing the Nashville victory. Nashville goals were scored by Kevin Fiala (Power Play) (assists: Sissons, Turris,) Viktor Arvidsson (unassisted,) Ryan Johansen (Ekholm, Subban,) Austin Watson (Fiala, Bonino,) Hartman (Empty Net) (Subban, Ekholm.) Colorado goals: Gabriel Bourque (Compher, Wilson,) Nathan MacKinnon (Zadorov,) Gabriel Landeskog (5 on 3) (MacKinnon, Barrie,) Alexander Kerfoot (6 on 5) (Landeskog, Barrie.) Game three is Monday night in Denver.

They are playing really well for a young team with very little playoff experience, but now these are must win games.
