The price of a perfect lawn

This is our neighbours’ garden. As you can see they have a picture-perfect lawn, fresh and green, evenly mown in stripes, no patches of moss or other weeds. This is obviously their pride and joy. They don’t have a lot else in their garden apart from a few shrubs – but I guess that makes sense because they are away a lot.
The catch to this velvety perfection is that the lawn takes a lot of attention, even when they are away. The grass got mowed three times last week – and it’s only early April! We haven’t cut ours at all yet.
When they are at home, the husband does it, often at weekends, and when they are away they get a gardener to come in and naturally he comes during ‘normal working hours’. Consequently it often seems that whenever I go outside with my coffee for a spot of quiet relaxation on a Sunday morning or a weekday afternoon, someone is very noisily mowing the f*ing lawn right next door.
I feel like I am the one paying the price for their perfect garden!

At the moment....id give almost anything to have a nice green lawn like that. I'd be will to give up my peace and quiet.....our lawn is covered with ice pellets and mushy ice....the rain continues to fall so when I venture outside it will be a sea of mud. Please....I am so ready for spring.

Ahhh the joys of neighbours. Surely an intelligent woman like yourself can come up with some vindictive form of revenge for all of the ruined peace!!
I now have a lawn the size of a postage stamp which is more weed than grass. A quick whizz with a hover mower once a fortnight and all's good!!

@WorDazza That sounds like my lawn. Perfectly little and easy to care for.

I have one on the terrace that does not need mowing. It does has mounds but I like it that way - gnreat for a bare foot walk. The most interesting part is there is least maintenance excepting pulling out weeds. This law is over 26 years old. In the picture you can see a part of this lawn.
Your neighbour's lawn is indeed neat looking. '

I think your neighbours make heavy weather of their lawn ,without so much as caring about how their neighbours feel with the noise.

Having a perfect lawn is indeed expensive. Sorry about the noise from your neighbor.
Sometimes, around here, it feels like everyone is doing their lawn in staggered time. So there is always a lot of noise. Why can't all they do it at the same time?

A very lovely lawn indeed. It looks like a green carpet. I wish I could have such a lawn, but I have no garden space in front of my house.

Their lawn is so beautiful,,here is the tip find a day when they are all at home then start mowing your lawn so that they get annoyed as well like very early in the morning when they are enjoying the sleep
