Yes I have, why do you ask? I have always loved the Old Testament because it read like story book when I was younger. David, giants, lions, Samson, Red Sea, Moses. I loved the stories. As I got older I learned to appreciate the lessons the New Testament taught me.

Tiffany, Have you ever listened to the Bible on tape. Sometimes it's easier. That way you can listen in the car while you are driving. If you really want to read the New Testament, there is an awesome one title "The Bible Experience" the entire New Testament is read by people you may know Denzel Washington, Maya Angelu, Kirk Franklin, Cuba Gooding Jr., Angela Basset and more. I have shared it with friends and family because I have never heard anything that brings the Bible to Life like this before, PDP

I ask because I'm starting in Genesis and I'd rather be in Ephesians... it's hard for me to get through right now, but I really want to read it from start to finish.

Not front to back - I'm just starting that now - it's kind of hard b/c I enjoy so many certain selections...

What if the 'unimportant' parts held some metaphorical message?

I've read it front to back maybe twice...just so I could say that I had! It's easier to listen to tapes or cd's. I like to listen at work.
