Made Out Like a Bandit

It really feels that way. I went to Wal-Mart first. They're still recovering from the blizzard. Their shelves, especially the meat counters were sparse. I did get what I needed there that only Wal-Mart has that I like to buy, and then headed over to Aldi and hoped for the best there.
I need to look at my list, which I didn't consult, to see if there's only one item I forgot or if there's more. I didn't consult it because I forgot I had it. With what I got from Aldi that I would normally have gotten from Wal-Mart, I feel like I saved a mint. The meat alone was a huge savings. I didn't get any frozen fruit. I didn't see any, but they had great buys on fresh, so still got a good amount of fruit, and vegetables. Unfortunately they didn't have any spaghetti squash, so that will be on another trip to the store. I forgot the tuna. So, no tuna casserole until I buy more tuna and spaghetti squash. I still need to get it put away and take care of the meat - dividing it up so it goes farther. I'm quite sure with what I got from Aldi, I would have paid double at Wal-Mart, so I really do feel like I made out like a bandit.
So, today was a good day. I ordered a new swimsuit, got my hair done, and got the groceries taken care of. Yes, there's still more I need, but I have enough to get me through for quite a while.
Now, I just need to sit for a little bit and rest my back, since I didn't use the mobile cart for any shopping. My back is holding up good, but needs a rest before I get at the rest of the food to put it away.
Have you gotten good deals at the grocery lately? Thanks for reading.

The 99 Cents Store had two loaves of cinnamon raisin bread for 99 cents instead of the usual one.

The Roma tomatoes at Aldi I bought a few days ago were about 89 cents per pound. Better price than the organic ones. At Walmart, they have a dozen grade A Jumbo eggs for 73 cents. That was a great bargain. The reduced donuts they have on a rack at Walmart were not as fresh and they became sticky and drippy so it was not the best deal. Aldi has a better price for a large jar of salted cashews compared to Walmart and they are just as good.

We love to shop at Aldi's when we go to Saginaw. They have good buys, on almost all their foods.

@kobesbuddy Yes, I got most of my veggies there, including the potatoes. I noticed that the first time I shopped there. It was a great advantage. I think I have a gluten problem, that has completely disappeared with this diet.

@just4him We buy some of their produce, also. They have a wide variety of gluten-free food items, for those who have Celiac disease.

I try to buy what I have a coupon for and items that are really on sale. One item that is usually on sale is cheese.

@MsBooklover It's good when you have coupons for something you use all the time. I rarely find coupons for things I eat, so coupons have no use in my life.

I have friends who are very good about giving me their unwanted coupons. For about 3 weeks, no coupons. I don't want to be greedy and bother them why they haven't. I am glad no major stuff to buy this week. Major bummed out.

Walmart, doesn't like to accept coupons, so I don't shop there, the manager, is very picky. I will grocery shop anywhere, but there.

@CookieMonster46 Policies shouldn't change daily. How is anyone to know if they can use coupons or not?

Not yet, but this suit is a dress style and it's already faded and it has lost it's shape and is irritating me no end. I found a good deal on a regular swimsuit that is colorfast so it will last until I need to buy the next size down.

The best grocery store in the Lake Charles area to buy items on discount is either Dollar General or Dollar Tree next to Wal Mart.
