Finally Spring

Attended the first plant sale of the year which is a good indication that spring has arrived. Temperatures reached double digits. I left the jacket behind and it was sunny and gorgeous.
The plant sale was is held annually at a community college here. Plants sold are part of the agriculture program there. Line ups started early and when the doors opened it was a mad rush to grab trees and all sorts of plants you can think of.
I wasn't able to get one of the large trees I wanted but picked up a few smaller plants including a scented geranium and a passion flower plant.
The snow has mostly disappeared even though the streets are quite messy and no outdoor planting until later in May. But it feels good to finally say goodbye to winter - I hope.

Everything is green and they trees have leaves, making shade already. We ar having few nights of cold, well cold to me around 40 but the daaytime highs are from 60 to 80 daily. I am about to plant the garden.

Enjoy your planting. Nothing green yet here except for the evergreens and we can't plant in these parts until the last frost around May 24th

I've noticed this week that it's as though someone threw a switch that scattered color everywhere I go. The trees and flowers are all blooming it seems. I've been exploring other people's gardens. I just posted about one of them.

I thought you had color all year round. I still have to wait to plant my garden and no color yet except in the greenhouses.

@Freelanzer I do, but for a couple of winter months, the main color is green. There are still some roses and rosemary and red berries around, and calendula blooms all year, but most plants really burst into color in spring and summer.

What you call cool there we probably call warm here but that is because we are just emerging from months of freezing temperatures.

How lucky. You have picked one of my most favourite flowers the Passion flower. Do you know the story behind the passion flower? It is a wonderful story of the passion and what the flower represents!

I thought I commented on this already, but perhaps not....anyway, if this is a repeat, feel free to toss a small plant at me! I don't plant anything because the wild life is enough! Had a pic to insert but everything is going to my draft file rather than sending! UGGGGG always something!

Yes everything is probably green and beautiful year round where you are. Here we have just a few months of warm weather so we make the most of it. I like to plant my own flowers and vegetables.

Anxious, waiting for some books from 4 different online stores which supposed to come a week or two ago! Have to service the car too before May, plus fixing some heaters (they ganged up on me, those 3 heaters!). Life is a bit hectic here for me this April/May.
