It's not easy finding happiness, are you searching yours? What can make you happy?

I am contemplating what can really make a person happy. In my case, not happy with the career I have and the distance from family. If I am looking at these things surely I can say I am not happy at all. But I know that happiness should start within me. Not with my job, not with family, not money nor material things. I have to love myself more than anything else if I do I can accept whatever is lacking in my life and I'm sure I will be living a happy life.

@mlgen1037 I understand you Louise, Family can always make us happy. That's a universal truth. And loving oneself is increasing your self esteem and therefore can boost happiness too. More interaction with you tomorrow, i hope. Have a good night sleep my friend.

@lcydoll most of the time we are focused on other things to make us happy. But we need to be happy within ourselves and it radiates to the outside.

Happiness is all around us. Most of the time we just didn't notice it. Happiness should start within yourself. I agree with that.

@LadyDuck when we love our family we tend to forget ourselves, And this should not be the case but i know as a mother we often do this.

@chavezrmc About a thousand years ago (so it seems) I was very shy and pretty much afraid of my own shadow! You would never know because I held my head high. Then one day I found a book "Your Erroneous Zones" by Dr. Dwane Dyer and he basically said, Stop being stupid. Nobody is looking at you or even cares! Wow! It took me almost an hour but my first feat was to walk in an adult book store! LOL OUCH, WHAT A NERD I WAS!

I'm working far from my family and boyfriend, and it's true it's really hard to live a life without your love ones. But you know what, I agree with you, happiness should not depends on someone or anything.

Happiness is a state of mind! I feel that we make so many boundaries for ourself for example, if this happens, maybe then I’ll be happy or if that happens, l’ll be more than happy for sure without realizing that maybe we can try to be happy right now, in the moment.. it’s so difficult at times, even I don’t know why!

@Ansal07 you are right it is us that make too many boundaries to ourselves... there are many ifs, many buts... in short worries in our minds. Living in a moment can lessen those and more specifically if you love yourself then you'll try harder to avoid those negative notions in your mind that will give you negative feelings and will give negative results.
