I was ten when my mother's friend lend her a Barbara Cartland book with a title 'An Arrow of Love'. The way she had written the novel was very realistic. It was as if i was watching the scene in my mind while reading it. The story was so friendly for a very young reader as myself and it even made me wish to be as brave as the female lead.

Hi May, welcome to myLot. I'm also here less than 24 hours, but I'm getting the hang of things and it's a lot of fun! With reference to your question, I do not have a specific author that I love the most, I am a voracious reader, I've been a book lover for as far back as I can remember. At one point in time, when I was a little girl, my mom would buy me Archie comics and simplified, age appropriate versions of the Charles' Dickens books, and I would read those of course, and I loved them, but then I would steal her Harlequin and Mills & Boons books and hide under my bed sheets to read the steamy parts. Today, it would be difficult to sit down and pick just one author or book. I like works of fiction, but after that it doesn't matter the genre. I like to be able to take up a book and start to read and immediately feel like I am walking alongside the author or the protagonist on every page. I liked JRR Tolkien, Suzanne Collins, Maya Angelou, Jodi Piccoult, Ken Follett, JK Rowling, John Green, Victoria Aveyard... the list is exhaustive. I don't do favorites. I don't tie myself to a brand, I just like quality literature... after that it doesn't matter.
