We Are Still On the Road

Hi everyone. It may seem as if I have fallen off the face of the earth but we are still enroute back home. Right now we area in Chantilly, Va visiting my very good friend. We have traveled over 1,000 miles so far.
Our trip began in Ocala then went to Plains, Georgia. We spent the night in Americus.The next day we visited Andersonville in the morning and then drove to my brother's in Suwanee. We spent two nights there and then headed to Greensboro, NC.
Our current stop in Chantilly was next. We are spending 4 night here. We went to visit Oatlands on Friday and then did some thrift shopping. Today we are going to play games and maybe go out for bbq. Tomorrow we head out again and spend one night in Pennsylvania before we arrive home in Connecticut on Tuesday.
We are getting anxious to be home.

Sounds like a fun adventure on the way home! Much more fun than if you just tried to drive straight through! I hope you keep having fun, and also have safe travels so that you arrive back on Connecticut in one piece!

Thanks, Jeff, so far other than traffic it has been very smooth sailing. The road we take is Rt 1125 and it is a scenic route that if I wasn't so burned out would allow us to visit Gettysburg again.

@BelleStarr Oh, that's too bad you can't visit Gettysburg. I've never been, but it's on my list of places to visit. I'm a big fan of history, and at some point I would like to visit key Civil War sites throughout our country. I have a buddy of mine who has been slowly visiting all the Union and Confederate Civil War forts, and I love listening to his stories about the history of those locations!

Thank you, yes we are exhausted but finally home.I had to throw out everything in my freezer today and lots of things in my fridge. The electricity was off for days while we were gone.

@DianneN I knew we had lost power but I wasn't sure how bad it would be. Our grandson didn't want to make the call so the only thing I kept was my frozen rhubarb.

Thank you, we are exhausted. Last Friday I went out with my friend and Al slept for 4 hours, he really needed that extra down time.

What a busy week or so you've had.
My family is close to Ocala. Or least they say they are. But no one ever knows where they are, when they're told where. Lol.
