The annual sneaking in

Just week before last I could have sworn that it'd be months before we needed to wrestle with the big weed mower. And today I walked the property and knew that it was getting to be past time that hubby tried to make that mower's engine roar. The ads say that the mower is easy to start. Even a weary old man can start it. Let me tell you: ads lie. That is a lie. I hope that hubby can yank the cord with enough gusto that the motor can't help but start up and most importantly, stay roaring and ready to consistently mow. No stuttering and joking around, please.

@andriaperry This is one of those walk behind weeders. Best way that I have to mow.

@andriaperry The walk behind weeder is all that is useful for this rocky landscape. Still hard on me to use it but easier than me packing a weeder on my back.

Your hubby will get that thing going in no time and that property will look great in no time.

@cintol Three weedy and hilly acres. Last year I mowed places like the front yard and front of the property and a couple of paths and called it done.

@cintol When we first lived here I did my best to trim more of the land even though it is not easy to pull a mower up and over rocks. These days, I am slower to the job!

That is why we now have an auto start so he doesn't have to exhaust himself trying to start it.

@BelleStarr I'd love that. I wish they didn't have such a big price tag.

Pulling that cord can be really exhausting if the motor doesn't want to turn over.

@JudyEv Its a horrid ritual, engine won't start, prime it with gas, engine floods. Start all over.

We bought a battery operated lawn mower because I got tired of gas ones. Trying to start them is a hassle.

I figured this was weather related in some way but expected a different direction. I pay one of our window guys to mow my lawn and if they own a weed whacker they bring their own. Our snowblower has an electric start even though it runs on gas too bad all those lawn machines don't have that option.
