Do you take complimentary toiletries?

To take or not to take... that's the question? Well, as I have been checking in and out from different hotels, hostels, and, guesthouse, I will see that there is a complete package of toiletries in small packets and bottles. Every time I will check out I will ask myself whether to take the excess bottles or leave them. The following are reasons why I want to bring them home if the rental fee is too high and if I am not satisfied with the services. Otherwise, I leave them. In your opinion is it OK to take those toiletries?

Before, I always do take those. But because it just piled up and not used, now I do not take an extra effort to take and bring them home.

Wow..then you can give away thosealso.. Now I got an idea. I can make baskets and put them in... Or something more elegant and include them ... I can make a lot of stuff about it.

@Mavic123456 oh. You gave me a good idea too! Now I should bring those home! Haha. The problem is, I do not go for hotels as frequently on my old-old company.

@wiLLmaH it's okay as long as you still check in. I love their lotion freebies actually.

@Mavic123456 no. for me, it's not. that's why i said "some go overboard". if a business keeps losing and replacing their supplies, they will either raise their prices or go bankrupt.

@hereandthere how about t those "big time" hotels like Sofitel. I remember a room mate of mine in one of the company outings took a towel from Sofitel. ... I got scared because we might be held when we check out

Heck yes. The cost of little soaps and shampoo bottles have been calculated in the room rate anyway.

The toiletries are a part of the price of your room, and so generally I will take them. I spend at least 5 to 7 nights a month in hotels as I travel on business, so aside from that, I also have constant supply of soap, shampoo and conditioner that I do not have to buy. Win, win.

If you use the soap and then leave the rest in the hotel or if you take the whole soap home with you --- it's the same for the hotel. They have to put a new piece in the bathroom for the next guest.
