Romans 3 Focal Passage 3:27-28 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law. Boasting: This behavior must be abandoned by the Christians. We can not boast in our salvation or our attempt at righteous living. These are things that Christ brings about in us as we exercise our faith. I believe also that we must watch ourselves and caution our kids in boasting in their talents, gifts, and academic abilities. Once again, it is God’s mercy that allows us success. When we are obedient to Him, He blesses and empowers. As parents, the most important lessons we will teach our children is to live in the shadow of the cross and stand firm in our faith.
