Have you ever been to a pot luck? If so, what do you usually bring? Im supposed to go to one this Saturday, but have never been to one and have NO IDEA what to bring!

I have been to several of these. I used to take anything from a huge mixed salad to chicken casseroles or green bean casseroles, to a couple of cakes or pies for desserts. Desserts are usually the most plentiful so if you could bring a casserole of some sort for part of the main course, the hosts will love you. :)

I love going to potluck dinners. You get to have many diffrent kinds of foods. Just make that 1 thing your family cant wait for you to make. Every one has at least 1 dish that the kids and the hubby has a hard time waiting for it to be done and the keep picking at it because it tasts so good. I have a couple. My kids love my home made mac and cheese and my sweet baked keilbasa. Keep it simple yet tasty.

I have been to several, there are usually a plentiful amount of desserts and cold salads, so if you can bring a hot dish that is what I always try to do. Something easy that keeps in the crock pot. I have taken sloppy joes and several casseroles. I have also taken hot cheese and tortilla chips for nachos. Basically you can take anything, that's what a potluck is all about.

Yes I have been to a few pot luck dinners and never know what to bring. Sometimes I just bring a lot of little things like rice, potato chips, drinks and bread. If I have time to cook, I make roast beef.

well a nice salad and/or some nice carnivorous dish would do nicely. or you could take some dessert.

well it all depends.. what kind of potluck is it? potato salad is a good thing to bring, or deviled eggs always make enough for 25 not everyone is gonna eat each item that is there so you do not ever want to over do it. When I go to potlucks everyone asks me to bring my famous fried chicken and black beans and rice. if your not into making stuff from scratch then go to the market and get a fruit or veggie tray that always works too.

That's what is nice about potluck dinners, it doesn't matter everything should be different. Check with the host on who's bringing what dish.Use the slow cooker, make sloppy joes or a beef stew.Baked beans are easy to make or potatoes & ham , add milk and cream of mushroom soup and bake .
