Let's not waste any time. We are at #37b, the "cover" portion of today's Play it Again, Sam: Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble's cover of Stevie Wonder's "Superstition." When Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble appeared at the 1985 Montreux Jazz Festival, they recorded the show, which became Vaughan's 1986 live album, Live Alive (some of the material was recorded during a performance at the Dallas Opera House and at Dallas Starfest.) One of the tunes that the band played that night was "Superstition." Because the band was heavily into substance abuse at the time (Vaughan was drinking a quart of whiskey and using one quarter of an ounce of cocaine a day,) the album is widely considered unfocused, and, since it was "fixed" in the studio, over-dubbed. It's the only live album released during Vaughan's lifetime, yet it has never charted on the Billboard 200. "Superstition," however, did chart, reaching #11 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart. The cover made enough impact that you can still hear it on Classic Rock radio, and it remains a fan favorite. Official video linked below. (Info verified by Wikipedia)

@RasmaSandra - He was a great guitarist. He played on David Bowie's Let's Dance album.
