Tips for visit to Vienna

Does anyone have any tips for my upcoming visit to Vienna? We are going this summer for 5 days, after a stop in my favorite city (Rome). We have never been to Vienna before. My husband enjoys classical music and would love to find a music store to buy sheet music for guitar. But all in all hates traveling. My son has never been to Europe. So I'm very anxious for them both to have a great time.

If you go to feed the pigeons, they like meat rather than bread. At least they did in 1990! Yes, I had fond memories of sharing my hot dog (sausage) with the birds. The sights were interesting as well... but I was only 7-8, so...

I was in Vienna many years ago but only for a day. It was a stopover on a flight from Germany to Egypt.
Buy a good guidebook before you go, read it and mark the sights you are interested in seeing. Maybe you can include a show with the Lipizzaner horses, something you don't see anywhere else in the world.
