Today is national concert day, observed on the 1stTuesday of May. This got me thinking about the many concerts I attended over the years and which ones I consider the best. Paul McCarthy, Rod Stewart, Cher, and Black Eye Peas were some of the memorable ones but the best would have to be a Stevie Wonder concert I attended over two decades ago. Of course I have been to many smaller concerts which were thoroughly enjoyable as well. Summer music festivals are the best where you can enjoy the outdoors and different genres of music. We have a week long folk festival, jazz festival , reggae festival, country music festivals and blues festivals to name a few. Do you like going to concerts and what is the best concert you have been to.

How cool! I've been to many concerts over the years, and my favorite was one of my first. It was a Four Seasons concert, but Frankie Valli wanted to keep my pen after signing autographs. I wouldn't let him, because he touched it. Janis Joplin and Jimmy Hendrix were great, too.

Oh what a treat that must have been. Do you still have the pen and autographs? Must be worth a bundle. Lucky you! You got to see Janis Joplin and Jimmy Hendrix? and Frankie Valli? Wow!

@DianneN You're not the only one. I got an Elvis signed autograph in the mail when I was a young one cherished it for years and when I left home for college left it behind. Stupid me. My mom moved later and threw away or gave away all my stuff - she honestly didn't think I needed them anymore.

I love concerts and I usually go to summer festivals. I think the most memorable concerts were the first time I watched Nickelback and I attended a Foo Fighters and a Linkin Park concert last year that was great, too.

@anikoonline We also have some free music festivals in the parks here. Just need to take a chair or blanket and enjoy the show.

Back when I was in college I went to a lot of concerts for free. That's because my friends had a band and they get to do the front act most of the time. So we can go to the backstage for free and sometimes we also get free tickets.

I don't go to many concerts but I loved seeing Genesis at Manchester United stadium. I had 4th row tickets so it was amazing. I went to see Jackson Browne once and he was spellbinding.

I was about to say, 'I never attended any' but suddenly the images of those concerts I had attended in the past came to my mind . Guess I never went to those with current famous artists, just the classical music stuff or ballet or this or that stuff.

I would have to say that it was seeing "Upon This Dawning" in concert. They were pretty amazing. I am taking my daughter to see Panic! At the Disco in August. That should be fun!
