Fast Lane/ Passing Lane Safety

We moved from Texas to California and I deeply HATE that the far-left lane isn't used for its intended purpose. In Texas, the "fast lane" is used only to pass. In California, it's where slow people chose to drive the entire time. I mean people that drive 40mph... they should drive in the right lanes. This prevents traffic from building up and it's safer for everyone, no? Why do slow people keep cruising in the far-left lane? I'm trying to figure out their reasoning other than just selfishness

It is just simply that they are idiots who have no idea how the rules of the road work. It drives me insane. What's worse is that we ALL KNOW that you are allowed to do 5 over the speed limit. So when you are in the left lane at 70mph, and you are actually doing 70...this is not right. You can do 75. I have gone past cop after cop after cop at 5 over and have never been pulled over. What's WORSE is when these idiots see cops and slam on their brakes. Ugh.

I think those on and off ramps in Texas are crazy where you if you miss the confusing turn lane into a shopping area you have to circle all the way around from one side of the freeway to the other.
