Finally, I made a concert I was supposed to attend! That's three out of ten this year! I have two scheduled next week....any bets? Can't go without shoes (not even in Kentucky), so I'm counting my favorite footwear songs. @JohnRoberts had this one pegged (he's two-for-two already), and here it is. #9: Those Shoes - Eagles And, as JJ said yesterday when using One of These Nights, I hope Don Henley doesn't get doubly mad because (a) you might actually listen to something he farted on without paying him royalties, and (b) a reminder that he co-wrote this with his arch-enemy, Don Felder. Sorry, Henley, go count your $250 million. That'll soothe you. This song was sort of a Looking For Mr. Goodbar thing (which I've only seen because Joel Fabiani was in it for 28 seconds) thematically, about the "desperation in the singles bars" and those icky, trendy, grossly overpriced shoes that were popular back then ("got those pretty little straps around your ankles"). A good song painting an ugly picture of life as a single woman ("you just want someone to talk to, they just wanna get their hands on you") in the 70s. Or now. Those Shoes Written by Don Henley, Glenn Frey, and Don Felder Recorded by the Eagles From The Long Run, 1979 You can't believe your reviews:

AND platform. Think Elton John's shoes, just with a thin strap.

Boy, this tune sure came out of left field. Or was that centerfield? No that's John Fogerty.
