Thankful for Neighbors

I don't live in the nicest of neighborhoods. Our home is nice as are a couple that are around us. We live out in the country (which I love), but when first turning onto our road, there are trashy homes and drug addicts and drunks. I hate that part of our neighborhood and often entertain the idea of selling our home and buying somewhere else. Recently, though, I saw a facebook post by a friend who has nightmare neighbors. Her 2 dogs escaped once. She had them back in the pen within 5 minutes, but her neighbors still called the police and the humane society on her. Last summer, their lawn mower tore up and it took them a couple of weeks to get it fixed. The neighbors caused them much trouble because their grass was higher than usual. This makes me thankful for my neighbors. My dogs escape all the time and my neighbors just call me to let me know. We take each other eggs and food from our chickens and gardens. We help each other out with cutting grass and check on each other when one is sick or injured. The grass is not always greener on the other side. I think I will be content instead of wishing to be somewhere else.

@gnatsmom I also have a neighbor that causes so much trouble and I keep hoping he will leave and finally nice ones will move in above us again.

No neighborhood is perfect, and certainly a lot of neighbors aren't, either. I've had a lot of neighbors from hell, but my new ones (since I moved) seem to be all right.

I was also thinking of changing my neighborhood and just live in the city, but my parents don't want to move out.We have good neighbors except for one who used to be close to us.We are distant relatives but some people are just envious of other's progress and kept on comparing themselves to us.Maybe they should be the one to move out from the neighborhood as they don't have respect to the people around them.Good neighbors are like family.

Some people don't have enough to do, do they? We are lucky and have good neighbours. We all watch out for each other.

I love where we live for the most part. There is one set of neighbors who have a ton of vicious dogs that runs wild and have gone after my kids and other people. Being in the country means they don't have to abide by any leash laws. Except for those awful dogs, I have no complaints here!

We live in the country on 5 acres, but try to keep our dogs in fence so they want tear up stuff at the neighbors houses. My dogs are very friendly, but they will tear up trash or chew up shoes.
