Learning to Use Instagram and Android Smartphone: Help!

So my husband left his phone home today and I'm trying to figure out how to use it. Some of you have already helped me through some of it. I really appreciate that I can get the screen to stay lit long enough to type passwords now. I entered my Facebook account so that I can at least manage to contact the owner of our communal blog if my computer goes out on me and I can't post. That emergency last week is the main reason I'm adding my accounts to Hubby's phone. Then I added Instagram. Guess I figured I could just run outside with my phone while logged in and take some photos of my flowers and send them direct to Instagram. But it seems my default phone camera instantly became the front camera on Instagram and I don't know how to switch it back to the back camera. Or does Instagram assume I will only use the front camera for direct sharing and send things from my gallery for any photo taken from my back camera? Then there are the hashtags! How do I add them easily? I can't type two letters on this tiny keyword with my big fingers without hitting the wrong key at least once. I added them as a comment in my first ever post. I can hardly wait to see what new problem I'll have trying to share something on Instagram. Since they seem to want me to take selfies by making the front the default camera, do I get to post talking videos as well? How do I do that? I'm waiting for all you more youthful people to help me out here. Any Instagram hints will be greatly appreciated by this old gray mare.
