Do You like the Oldie Music?

As I am typing here I have my oldies station playing and I am loving it. Even though it is 1am I get up every so often to do a little dancing around the living room. "Please Mister Postman" was just playing.
. I bet there are not many people here that remember that song if they even knew it at all.
I love this, I can stay up all night as long as I have my oldies on. It certainly brings back so many memories about people I haven't thought of in so many years.

When you say oldies, what generation or decade are you referring to? To me, 70s music would be oldies to me! lol
I actually love listening to Big Band Music from the 40s. I also enjoy the beginnings of rock 'n roll when notables like Chuck Berry were hitting the scene. Mix in some rhythm and blues from the likes of BB King, and I could sit and listen for hours.
But then again, music from the 60s also tickles my fancy. I guess when I look at each particular decade, there's great music that I love, so maybe I don't have a favorite oldies....I like them all!

@moffittjc I like everything from the 20's and through the 60's. I do like some of the music from my daughters era. Actually if the beat is good I will like it. Some of the music from my parents (the 20's thru the 40's) era is pretty good to like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. The only thing I am not fond of is country western but occasionally one will be okay.
I was lucky as I was born in the middle of so many different genres.

@ramapo17 That is wonderful. I like a lot of the music that parents listened to from the 40s and 50s.

@nanette64 I hated getting rid of all my albums and records when we moved. We were staying at a relatives house and didn't know how long we would be there and we tried to get rid of as many things as we could. I wasn't sure if they would hold up being a storage unit in Florida for very long. I have my oldies station on the tv all the time when we are not watching tv.

@ramapo17 I've even still got a lot of 'albums'. A shame I don't have a record player though.

I always loved Please Mr. Postman. I still remember the girlfriend I had when that was popular and that was her song for a boyfriend. That was about 1961 and the Marvelette's made it famous after that the Beatles sang it in 1963 and then the Carpenters in 1975.

I like oldies from many decades since I have been around so long, I guess. I too like Big Band music and the old R & B hits of the 50s and 60s. Piano jazz is a big fave too.

I graduated high school in 1960 in New Jersey. I was close to New York and went to many oldie shows. Loved them all @JamesHxstatic.
