Saturday when our guy friend was over, he mentioned that the back toilet's handle wasn't "right."
For those of us that use it all the time, we hadn't noticed it getting... weird.
The wife agreed that it seemed wrong, but I had other things on my plate the last 2 days and didn't notice.
Well, today the wife went to go before having to go back to work after lunch and she said that the handle was broken and she couldn't flush it.
Okay - I can check that out.
First, I used one of the dialysate fluid bags to "flush" the waste. I drained the other ones and set the large waste bag it the box to drain that.
After that, I took the lid off the back to try and figure out what was wrong.
Down on the flapper - whatever you call that thing - was a black ring with the chain that pulls up the flapper running through it.
'Okay,' I thought, 'that looks like something.'
I reach down and work it back up to where the handle is.
'Let's see if it screws onto the handle,' I think.
After all, it could've broken off after all.
Nope, that thing screwed right back on the handle.
Now, maybe it needs some glue or the like, but its fixed for now. Didn't cost one red cent and didn't take more than a couple of minutes. It also didn't take a 'man' to fix it.
I am pretty handy around the house, but I'm aware that I have limits. I don't do electricity and I lack the strength to do heavy items. But simple things like this was well within my abilities.
Have you fixed anything lately?
