No names please. I just wonder how many here have, at some point in time, stopped communicating with a mylotter because you didn't approve of a comment they made or you don't approve of their ideas. Maybe they revealed to you something about their lifestyle, status in life or other information that you didn't know before and you don't approve of. There is no doubt that Mylot is a great place to meet others and freely discuss a variety of topics. What would it take to make you stop interacting with someone?. Have you ever avoided or stopped interacting with someone on Mylot because of their views, or lifestyle?

Many times, as people showed their true colors after awhile. Just like they would have if in person. But never because of lifestyles or views.

I think it is usually the person's behavior that says it all and would make me decide whether or not I want to continue.

@kobesbuddy I find that some only visit my discussion for the purpose of starting a fight otherwise they never visit. I simply do not engage or respond. It's like they are saying "who can I annoy today"

I would avoid that person if he or she is continuously rude or boorish. Thankfully, the majority of members are nice.

I do like to give one the benefit of the doubt but if I see it is a persistent behavior that is outside the guidelines of good conduct then I am not amused.

@Freelanzer On the occasions when it happened - I was certainly not amused.

I haven't blocked anyone but one person I ignore because of his view about rape. It is a belief he has that I can't condone in any way so I unfriended him and move on if I happen to see any of his posts. There are a couple of others I rarely interact with as they seem to be full of anger and spite and I don't want to be party to it.

I haven't cone across that person. Or maybe I don't know and still interact. That would be tragic. Surprised someone with views like that has not caught the attention of admin. I too avoid the hate and anger.

@JudyEv I wouldn't either and that is exactly what this post is about. Where do you draw the line on comments and posts that are disturbing to say the least.

@Freelanzer It didn't really involve admin - just a comment about wife bringing it on herself, denying conjugal rights. It was his opinion but it's unlikely to change and I didn't want to be associated with it.

I haven't really had any problems with anybody here. There are some that I feel closer to then others and have become friends with them outside of myLot.

That's good. Anytime you interact with a large number of people there is always a possibility that you are not close to everyone just some. That also could have something to do with individual preferences

There is only one person I cannot find myself responding to because they try to pin other people down. They are rude and I just see them

I know one who does this. Maybe it is the same person, but it does get annoying to see the same person putting people down.

I know what you mean. I had a similar thing happen to me. Seems this person really wanted a fight and I would have none of it.

I've never got to that point with anyone. I've had a lot of disagreements but generally we've ended up agreeing to disagree then moved on.

Disagreements are fine but I do draw the line at the behaviour when or if it becomes outrageous.

@WorDazza Yes it would have to be extreme abusive behavior for me to block, at the same time if the things said make me uncomfortable, I will simply avoid.

@Freelanzer Even so, I would rather try to show them the error of their ways than report or block. Unless of course they are being really abusive to someone.

I avoid polemical topics like religion or politics, people tend to be offended easily. So far so good, I don't have problems here.

I do not communicate with members who are condescending and critical of others viewpoints. There is a tactful way to disagree without getting personal. To me My Lot is similar to a radio or TV program. If you don't like what's on change the channel. There are so many fun and interesting posts to choose among. My Lot should be an outlet not a chore....

I see mylot as my safe happy place and I draw the line where and when anything is done to change that. As you said there are lots of interesting discussions to choose from

I don't get along very well with the self appointed Mylot Police Department! Even in my short time back, I have met three of them. If you have an idea for me or see that I am doing things that are not allowed in the FAQ that is fine with me. But telling me when I can post, how my discussions should be....etc....forget you! History time!

Why would anyone here decide what and when you should post? The way I see it is that there are bullies everywhere even on a friendly site like Mylot.

I haven't had too many issues with anyone on here, so I haven't avoided anyone. I have just noticed that people who shouldn't be policing people on here seem to have to make it their job to tell others how to act and what to do and even how they should be writing. But I wouldn't let someones opinions or thoughts hold me back from interaction, unless it's unnecessary.

I haven't yet. I have met someone here who mistook my intention to something bad . I was about to explain myself but on the second thought "never mind" I just let it pass
