We were supposed to spend a short vacation in a beach with few of our friends. It was already scheduled a month ago. The family was so excited to go since this would be our first time to see the place. Two weeks before the planned trip, my youngest son had a basketball game accident and fractured his forearm that need to be cast. Then days before the trip my eldest daughter had an allergy. We went back and forth to visit the hospital for my two kids and decided to call off the trip. Even then, our friends decided to go without us and its fine. I guess it is better to stay at home anyway my two kids would not surely enjoy the trip and I know that we can have it some other time. What is more important is their well-being. Have you had cancelled a trip similar to these reasons?

summer isn't over yet, so you can still go when everyone is at 100%. you can also get feedback from your friends about the beach when they come back so you know what to expect when it's your turn.

Yes. We were supposed to go to Baguio when my son acquired a chicken pox. We were supposed to go to Boracay when my son was hospitalized. We will not know what will happen. But if sonething like this happen, it is better to stay home.

Sad to hear those stories. But you are right, it is better to stay home because we might never know, things may get worse.

@cherigucchi Yes. And it was all expense paid. Wahaha. But it is hard when you are not in your comfort zone when something can happen.

Aww, I'm sorry you had to cancel the trip, but it was for good reason. Hope you can make it to the beach when the kids are better!

Yes, I have cancelled trips for health reason. I would never quit home if one of my family is seriously sick.

Yes, it has happened. My husband wanted to fly to Nepal with a friend to go hiking in the Himalayas. But he felt so bad before the flight that he couldn't go. He didn't lose all the money for the ticket but a considerable amount.
