Hello, everyone! I have noticed that many parents make appointments to a psychologist for their children. They care about their kids' well-being and want to hear recommendations from a professional. At the same time, in today's local news, I read that the number of adults who visit a psychologist decreases every year. Many people find such visits too costly, others are sure that they can overcome any problem in their life if they have a friend with a bottle of vodka, such friend is believed to be much better than any psychologist. A couple of days ago, I watched a video of one famous blogger on Instagram, she made an ad for a new paid service - a psychologist online: you can call the young female psychologist 24/7 or chat with her. Personally, I doubt if such offers are trustworthy. I prefer neurologists to psychologists, although I visited them only a couple of times in my life. What do people think about psychologists in general in your place? Do you think it is useful to visit them?

I do not believe that a psychologist online is useful. People who really need the service of a psychologist need to talk with them personally.

@MashaVickina You need to look people in the eyes to understand what they need and their problems.

@MashaVickina I really have not asked people in my area what they think of psychologists. I have gone to therapy and stopped going because I realized I know me better than them and need our money.

In our village,it's shame to visit the psychologist,it means you're insane and unable to talk.many of our villagers still can't understand the meaning of psychological health. I'd been reading the books of psychology.the first book i read is "Abnormal Psychology".The writer is Philip Zimbardo.it helps me to be awar of the psychological problems i had and let me have the courage to face the true life. i also had seen a psychologist,i said i have a serious insomnia. He asked me some simple question to test my intelligence and gave me some sleep pills,it really helps me lot.but i'm too shy to see him again.Because i'm afraid that villagers will think i'm a lunatic

Well, not all places accepts psychologists with open arms. People think that psychologists means you are crazy or something. but I think it is important to have them around. They are these people that you can talk to and see the problem on a bigger picture because they are really not involve with the problem.

@rakski Oh, yes, some of them are well-skilled professionals! My psychology teacher at college was a great specialist, I am glad that I could learn from her

In our town is a hospital with a ward for patients with psychological problems. I haven't heard any negative things about it.
