Finding a cheap apartment is difficult. I have now faced the reality that I may be moving from place to place every year or two. So for now I am looking for an apartment that I don't need to buy anything, meaning most of the essentials are provided for, such as bed and yeah the table (Thais don't use a regular table that much.). After a long walk and a few trips (ouch) on the road, I finally found the one I was looking for. 1. Cheap, 2. Essential things (except table but with the price I can buy a cheap one) , 3. Close to work. So deal has been made. I am okay with it, so I pay but when the manager was explaining to me what I will pay for next month's bill I was surprised. Apparently, I have to pay for the; a. Cable TV (I don't have a TV) , b. Flat rate for the water (I live alone I don't use water that much). c. Maintenance (this is ok with me because this goes to the cleaners of the apartment.) What's your take on this? Have you experienced such deceit, too?

Hi Mavic. Oh yes a lot of times. The manager should have told you straight not when you have agreed to rent. Tsk tsk. Hidden charges.

yup, I am okay paying as long as I will consume, like the electricity. I have the control whether to use it or not and how to use it.

not really an agent but a manager. He is not fake but you know some people just to get the deal will skip some minute details but they didn't realize that even these minute details are important.

It is really deceptive for them to do so. They should make it clear to you in advance of all the expenses.

exactly because I am willing to pay if I was just informed ahead. If it is really like that I have no choice but to take or leave it.

@Mavic123456 i didn't know that's how the thais eat. i hope there are no more hidden charges the longer you stay there. at least, now you know what else to ask the owner should you need to move again.

they have cabinets and shelves. They don't have dining table they eat on the floor or sometimes they have small table on the floor too. no A/C and I am okay without AC because I don't use it. it is quite cool here at night and also most of the time I am at work.

@Mavic123456 Was cable already in the apartment? If you do not want to pay for it can you have it removed? When I first came to Israel I moved a lot and when I got married we moved a lot but then when I got divorced I settled in to places for a long time. I hate moving and it is very hard the older I get. We have certain bills that come every two months and certain ones that come every month. We pay for the cleaning of the steps and since my scooter is in the building I pay for charging of my scooter. They should let you know everything but that is not always the case. That is too bad there is not enough honesty. If I had enough money I would rent 3 apartments besides my own so no one would live in those 3 so I could have piece and quiet.

yes, it is installed there. I have no problem with the charges it is just that I should have been informed before they let me signed the contract. that's the deceit part. and I can't take out the cable TV also because it is already installed.

Yeah, really bad. I hope they just tell the customers right away of what they will pay on a regular basis. so much for something I will not use.

yes, I did, I chose an apartment that is honest, there is still added stuff like fix rate for water but at least they told me before I signed the contract. what I am complaining was the deceit. they could have told me earlier I like their apartment it is cheaper than the one I got now. but it doesn't matter to me.
