Where to begin? In a nutshell, a severe bout of depression, anxiety, and stress laid me out for about a week, but I'm fine, and so is Play it Again, Sam, a two part discussion consisting of an original song followed by a cover of that song. We left off at #28a: "Tomorrow Never Knows" by The Beatles. The final track on The Beatles' 1966 album, Revolver, "Tomorrow Never Knows" has been referred to, by Colin Larkin in The Encyclopedia of Popular Music, as "the most effective evocation of a LSD experience ever recorded." This psychedelic gem showcases The Beatles in all their acid-fueled glory. Credited to Lennon-McCartney, the song was primarily written by John Lennon after he read (and followed the "instructions" to the letter) The Psychedelic Experience: A Manual Based on the Tibetan Book of the Dead by Timothy Leary, Richard Alpert, and Ralph Metzner. The tune is comprised of tape loops, backward guitars, and Lennon's distorted vocals, which were run through a Leslie speaker cabinet to achieve the desired effect. "Help!" this definitely ain't! It is, however, a major influence on a hell of a lot of musicians that viewed psychedelics as a rock and roll duty. Stay tuned! (Info verified by Wikipedia)

It's a great Beatles song that was definitely not a hit.

I think that sounds very "strange" on Revolver, but hey, that's my favorite Beatles album, so it works!

I know you've seen it already. You probably weren't surprised once you saw it.

Love the Revolver Album. As the song says, You just want to relax and float downstream." The title came from an expression Ringo Starr used. The experimentation on that album was revolutionary (not # 9)

And, the title does not appear once in the lyrics!
