Long Time No See

As part of my Mother's Day gift, my husband took me to Washington, D.C. for a few days. We've been there several times before, so rather than sightsee, we ate and ate, and ate. We also visited friends in Georgetown. We returned home a couple of hours ago, only to find out my son and his bride are leaving for Boston tomorrow for the weekend. Long time, no see, them or you! I'm beat, but will see you soon.

It is said that marriage will make the couples gain weight. Sure enough, hubby and I gained weight, because we love eating. He would cook deliciously or we would eat out. I think eating is the way most couples bond.

It was a fun get away. Thank you! I heard that Doodles caught his 5th chipmunk today. Bad boy! His lab tests came back good, so he's doing well on his meds. Thanks so much for asking. I missed him as much as I missed the kids. lol

@rebelann Thanks and so do we feel badly. Our son said Doodles was so quick and the chipmunk seemed very sluggish. He couldn't stop Doodles in time.

@silvermist Doodles had lab tests and the results are in. He is absorbing his new heart and pain pills perfectly. Now, I have to keep him from catching chipmunks. He caught 5 in two weeks! Bad boy!

The food in most large cities can be terrific. I don't eat dessert, but had a taste of my husband's creme brûlée. Yummy! Thank you. My son should arrive in another 30 minutes.

When I was a teenager, my parents, sister and I visited Washington DC and did some site seeing, like visiting the White House (that is when tourists could go inside the White House for a tour Reagan was President), we saw the Lincoln Memorial, Smithsonian & where the paper money is made. I would like to visit again with my husband, hopefully in the not too distant future.

I'm so happy you got to visit DC, too. We loved it all, including the museums. Our daughter in law worked in the Clinton White House with Monica Lewinsky. Need I say more? lol

One of those places I have never been, although I almost went once when I was stationed in Norfolk. Eating sounds like a blast, and I don't think I can ever get enough of that.
