Can this be a snake egg or bird's egg on my garden

I have found an egg on the top of the soil in my garden. It's the second time but the first time i was not able to take a picture of it. This time i took a picture. I was giving water to my Eugenia plant and found under the leaves that looks like a white ball. I'm not so sure if this is a snake egg or bird egg. I crushed it immediately after taking a picture. Hopefully there's no more egg hiding under it. The picture above is an egg cut half. You can see some black something in it. Below is just a rock. In case you can't tell which is the egg on the picture. This plant came from a garden farm h that sells different plants. So i was thinking because it was rice field areas turned into garden plant.

@hotsummer Most possibly. Will you wait for it to hatch?

A bird would probably lay eggs in a tree. I believe a snake would lay eggs in the ground or give birth to live baby snakes in some cases. You might get another egg in the same place. Maybe next time take the egg somewhere else and see if it hatches. Even if is a tiny snake it wouldn't be big enough to hurt you.

My worry if it hatches and turns out to be a snake and i was not home when it happens. I would not know where it went if it went hiding inside my home. That would be scary. But I'm not interested also to know what it is.

as per my opinion birds eggs can never be on land so it might be of the snack egg.so it better to crush it.
