A Dogs Best Friend

Animals always have an innate factor for protection; whether it is for their human counterpart, their own babies or another animal in distress. This certainly proved to be true when two dogs broke out of their containment area and one of them got into trouble. Smokey and Remus were playing by the pool when Smokey went in. Smokey, not being a good swimmer was in serious trouble. He kept trying to get out but couldn't make it. Realizing the desperate situation, Remus jumped in and literally lifted Smokey up and out of the pool by using his nose. Remus literally saved Smokey from drowning. Needless to say, Smokey now wears a vest when he comes to visit.
What began as a Sunday afternoon enjoying the dog days of summer at the Becerra house in Mesa changed in an instant.

@nanette64 You said it right. Compassion is too difficult to gain with some people. Domestic animals are compassionate in nature. That's the reason why I love having pets around. There are no buts with them. They are always there for us.

I seen this on the news, that was awesome! Not long ago a toddler found its way to my Uncles house a block away and its dog stayed with it and fought other dogs off, My uncle yelled for my sister that lived next door, and she got the baby in her arms, that is when they seen the parents looking for him, they found him because of the dog.

@nanette64 I have read many stories about dogs rescuing someone and this is very special. They do have special instincts. I know I have rescued my cats but not sure they would have or would rescue me.
