Diary Saturday 19th May 2018 After the week long course that meant getting up at 7.30 am each day it was nice to have a long lie in. It was a day of not much at all. A book I had ordered on Amazon arrived. Great to have the book but annoyingly it came without its dust-jacket, even though it was advertized with a picture with the jacket in place. I included my disappointment about that in my review of the seller on Amazon butthey refused to publish it - obviously they just want positive feedback about their sellers. Diary Sunday 20th May 2018 A friend e-mailed me to tell me that there was an interesting Sikh festival on in the city centre. I went along to watch, and the Sikhs gave out lots of free food including hot curries and deep fried breads. It was a lovely event including spectacular martial arts displays. I went to this last year too. Diary Monday 21st May 2018 A job searching day, but also a day when I learned that a friend in Manchester has been rushed to hospital for heart bi-pass surgery. I bought a get well card for him. The lovely heat wave has kept going all weekend which is great. Arthur Chappell

I have had a few experiences recently with various sites where negative reviews have been knocked back. What's the point?

@asfarasiknow Amazon just want to sell more and think a bad review or two might lose them £2.50 out of their millions

I didn't realise they could pick and choose which reviews to post. Makes a mockery of the whole idea, surely. Seven thirty is a lie in for me ... I'm up at five forty on a weekday!

@Poppylicious they are only supposed to take down anything defamatory so taking down honest criticism as they have done here is not appropriate

It must be a good book. A good buy, but without the dust jacket? I wish your friend peace and recovery. I wish you success in your job-hunting.

Yes it would be nice to get back to your usual routine - if getting up at 7.30 a.m. is not customary. I wish your friend a successful surgery and early recovery.

thanks, I can live without the cover, but it is a bit annoying. The rest of the book is fine fortunately.

Wishing your friend all the best with his surgery. Having been through it this time last year I know how difficult and scary it is but he will be feeling so much better soon. Enjoy the rest of your day.
