Black wedding dress ..

. This is the third black wedding dress I made .. I designed this one..the bride was really happy with it .. I think she looked stunning ..It's a sleeveless dress with fishtail and a bolero jacket with long bell sleeves, with a detachable black tulle raffled collar.. The first time, I made a black wedding dress more than twenty years ago, it kind of creeped me out a bit especially that the wedding theme was medieval. But I was very inspired and challenged by it .. It was not just a dress but a costume. I imagined myself in the dark ages while making it. I wish I had a photo of the dresses .. I also made the two bride's maids who were in black and red.. Some of the colours of wedding dresses I made were red, pink, blue, gold, most were white, cream .. Black are not that popular yet .. What do you think of black wedding dress?.. Bess .

I have heard that wedding dresses in varying colors are becoming popular these days. I figure it is their wedding they should have what they want. My sister-in-law wore a black gown for her wedding and it was beautiful. I think that these days it is an almost anything goes type of feeling. That dress on the bride in your image is beautiful.

Thank you so much .. I agree with you .. most brides want to be different .. the choice of colours other than white or cream can bring out their own unique personality..

If I dont need to follow traditions, I would have a black wedding dress instead. That black wedding dress is stunningly beautiful.

@epiffanie Always a pleasure, Bess. Wonderful couple. In Australia, it is okay if you use other colors for a wedding gown? Did you design your wedding dresses?

not too keen on that. 2 people i know got married in those and it seemed to curse the union. i was married 5 times and the only good marriage was the only white dress

It is kind of witchy, or gothic, I like white or off white.. People where, what makes them happy.

I have never thought of a black wedding dress before but it looks really nice. I love it. I guess it all depends on the theme of the wedding.

Yes indeed .. and also depends on how the colour look on the person .. Some brides look washed out when they wear white so off white or cream would be better.. Some, would look sad or miserable in black ...

Oh that's interesting, and beautiful dress by the way. :-) I guess way back when in the 1700-1800 Germany the black dress was the standard for a wedding dress. Personally? I think it is a little creepy - but the idea of colored wedding dresses intrigues me - it's a cool idea
