Suddenly, Most Rev. Anil Couto, the Archbishop of Delhi's letter has fallen in the centre of controversy. The Archbishop has exhorted Catholics to pray for the country and the coming general election in 2019 that the new government might govern the country on secular ideals, ideals which are enshrined in the constitution. Though the letter doesn't take any political party's name or any political leader's name, it is understood to be anti- BJP and anti-Modi because BJP, the present ruling party in India is perceived to be far from secular. So, they are seeing red in the prelate's letter and have begun to criticize it vehemently. To tell the truth, the present ruling party and the government in India have nothing to fear from Christians. Christians (of all denominations added together) make only 2% of the total population of India and Catholic are an insignificant part of this 2%. Even if the they unite together they will be less than a drop in the ocean. They cannot make any difference in the outcome of the general election. But as I said, if you are too sensitive ......

So the Church there is involved in politics too? If so, then does here. Church and government are two different entities and should not mixed together.

What will be will be but I do not look at someones religious beliefs to rule the country, I look at what they are as far as knowing how to deal with people and problems. Not how to chose to worship God.
