Live In The NOW!

I once live in an Ashram (Spiritual Monastery) for two years. I had intended to give my whole life in service but as my experiences grew, my spiritual outlook changed. I got up at 4.00 am, went to the Communal Hall for the chanting of sacred Scripture text, did Hatha Yoga, had breakfast, consulted with the Guru (Teacher) to specific tasks planning, overseer task performance, attended 12.00 o’clock mediation, had lunch, went back to doing mission task, 6.00 pm meditation, had dinner, had evening recitation, then went to bed at 10.00 pm. That was the routine repeated each day. One day, as I was sweeping the leaves off the track, I got to meet the Master for a few minutes. I asked him what is the difference (in energy) when he walks and when we walk. You can feel a happiness and contentment when he has just occupied a place. His answer was, ‘Be all that you can be in the NOW’. He said, in that one split moment give it your everything. For that split moment is precious and will never return. It will become your past experience. Today is the only day you will experience. Tomorrow is not important because no one has control over death. That lesson made a huge impact on me. Today, I try to live in each moment…to appreciate and love and be content. And to excel. I try to do everything with perfection. This teaching has now coloured my life. I must say I am a much happier person. How do you face your days? What mental attitude do you practice? Credited: Picture taken from the free internet domain.

His words are very wise. That's my philosophy, too. I awake eager to embrace each day.

I have read many of your posts and I can say you are one of those naturally blessed and spiritual persons. Actually your whole family is like that. I see that in you. Your writings and the things you do shows it.

I have taken your words to heart. I'm sure I could live in the 'now' much better than I currently am doing.

Very wise words. I face my day without expectation but thankful for the day that I still have in this world.

@responsiveme You can't help BUT live in the now. The secret is to see that moment in eternity and give it your all.

it is an intense approach to life ...like 'Live like there is no tomorrow'. This is hard to do.

I live every day too, getting in everything I think is important. I love living and I know it will not last forever so doing what makes us happy and content is very important.
