Frederick's Story

I've introduced little Frederick here before. He has a human counterpart. Some months ago my hubby ran into an author that wrote a historical novel. He liked the novel so well that he e-mailed the man. Hubby and the man, Frederick, became friends. They sent messages back and forth. Human Frederick had mentioned that he'd had cancer but beat it. Then came the message that a worse cancer had cropped up. Hubby and Frederick phoned back and forth. Then came the morning that I drove hubby to work. A pair of teeny eyes peered up at me from the other side of the road. I turned around and threw my sweater over the little guy with the big eyes. That little guy was a cat and in good shape. What to do with the little kitty who really wanted his Mommy? Hubby had the little fella on his lap, showing him kitty kibble as he talked to Frederick his human friend. He got off the phone and I heard hubby telling little kitty- all one pound of him- that he was Frederick. He was not a no namer any more. He was Frederick and it was a good and honorable name. I got a message today from Frederick's wife. He is having more issues. He has chosen to not take on more chemo. The final transition is coming along. I will be sure to give little kitty Fredrick to hubby tonight so that he can hug him.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Cancer runs in our family and my father chose to stop treatment, too. Sweet little Fredrick.

That's sad. But it is a choice that cancer patients make. My grandpa made that choice. My grandma has said if her cancer comes back she wont do chemo.

@thislittlepennyearns I'm sorry about your grandparents. Human Fred said that he had done chemo once and did not want that route again.
