I heard it on a radio program this morning - and I couldn't believe my ears - cockroach milk trending as the latest superfood. I decided to check it out on google and sure enough there was quite a bit about this latest 'health food'. According to research by scientists the nutrient rich milk crystals found in the female Pacific beetle cockroach is "one of the most highly nourishing and highly caloric substances on the planet"! Would you consume cockroach milk?

Getting those milk crystals out must be very time consuming - and messy. I think the price per liter may be extremely high.

@Kandae11 I guess, you're right. if there's too much effort probably, it would be needing too much money. That's how it goes.

My first thought was "how do they get enough milk from a roach to sell it?" No I would not willing drink roach bug milk, that is up there on the list of I will not`s, like eat rats and cricket flour.

Processing the crystals they extract must be very time consuming - therefore I guess it would be a rather expensive product.

@Kandae11 Sigh...may god almighty spare me the humiliation. Come to think of it, Chinese do eat roaches, and by that logic, they should be the healthiest.

OMGoodness! Now, I will have to insist on seeing all the components of the meals that come out of the food processors! Thanks a lot, Ruby! (grinning at you) I don't want to eat or drink anything from cockroaches! (That's one of the reasons I won't eat peanut butter!)

I've never heard of cockroach milk. The cockroach is so small. They'll need a lot of cockroaches to collect milks. But where are so many cockroaches? In any case, I never thought of drinking cockroach milk.

@Kandae11 Sure, as they did for the eggs. When I was a kid eggs were super food, later they became evil, "do not eat eggs they are bad for your cholesterol". From a few years they are again super food. Ridiculous.
