It is reported that a private conversation in a household was recorded by Alkexa and sent to someone in their contact list That contact immediately alerted the couple and asked them to switch off the device.
Would you still own an Alexa?.
Here are the details
Amazon said that one of its Echo home speakers recorded a private conversation without permission and sent it to a person in the owners’ contact list, an incident that raises questions about the security of such voice-operated devices.

@LadyDuck Our Government here is getting ready with a system that can help them extract all information about us through a search that will take them to all our activity. I am scared as I have criticised them left right and centre.(lol) In the meantime somewhere in Europe they have started a data control
Here is the link
Hopefully this will stop a global data search.

@allknowing I know about the GDPR, we are receiving dozens of emails from European sites to confirm that we want to continue to receive their newsletters and other stuff. Switzerland is not obliged to follow the EU regulations, I am glad because many American sites are no more available to European users. I have checked and we can still reach them, because our IP is not from an EU country, but in Switzerland.
It's good to live in a neutral independent country.

Why would the couple want it recorded I wonder. Some technical glitch I am sure.

It is an amazon assistant that does chores for you such as selecting your songs, putting off or on your lights, adding items in your shopping list......................... You just have to talk to it.

I assume you are a senior and most seniors are not comfortable with any type of technology.
