A grand day!!!

Even though I wasn't crazy about facing the BIG "60" this year... God had His way of filling it with blessings...anyway. I actually had a really good day, that day. First... I want to thank you all again...for the many birthday wishes, and sentiments. I really appreciate you all. Second... I heard from a friend of many years (whom actually we share the same birthday)...that I met while living in Franklin, TN...outside of Nashville. She sent me a lovely card decorated with pretty flowers, and the envelope had those same flowers. Then added a nice gift inside. God ended up giving me two things that I have been wanting. First... I received a nice contemporary, small microwave. It is the perfect size, for where I am at in my life. It has a lot of nice features. Now I don't have to deal with that other filthy one that the guys dirty, and won't clean up after themselves. The only plus to that other microwave, was that it was huge. So... If I ever need something big to reheat (which isn't often)...I will bite the bullet, and use that one. But now I have my own (which I keep really, really, clean), and I am a super happy camper! Second... God blessed me with an 8 Quart Oval Shaped Slow Cooker. Yay!!! I have been wanting a really big oval shaped cooker, and now I have one. That thing is huge!!! Tonight...I am initiating the cooker, by cooking my first meal in it. Tomorrow...I will wake up to the smell of a nice pot roast, with red potatoes, carrots, and onions...and lots of gravy to go with it!!! It should be ready by noon!!! I travel all over the place (for various reasons), and have often wished I had a slow cooker...so I could prepare meals before I leave, and have them ready, and waiting for me, when I return. So this baby will be getting a lot of use! Then... I ended the day by treating myself to Golden Corral. I have not been there in years. I was able to take advantage of their senior discount. They start at 60 years of age. Talk about perfect timing. However... It is not much of a special. Just .80 cents off... Oh well... Any amount helps...I guess. LOL All and all... I really enjoyed the day.

I was really happy. I am actually using my slow cooker tonight for the first time. Tomorrow I am going to having pot roast with red potatoes, carrots, and onions!

Glad you had a great 60th. I wasn't particularly bothered about the "Big Six O" (or any of the other "Big 0"s for that matter) but next year my #1 son hits the "Big Five 0" - now THAT'S frightening.
