I Pull Out My Hair

I have this habit since I was in college. I don't remember how it started. When I sit or laying in bed, especially when I'm thinking about something my hand will start caressing my hair strand by strand to chose which one is qualified to be pulled out I have long black hair, the strands is thick and rather wavy. The strand that I pull out is the one that stand out than the others, either it's the thickest or have small curls, but mostly the thickest. 3 years ago I started experiencing early greys. I find them mostly spread where I parting my hair. I don't like how it looks there so I pull it out using a tweezer because some of them are still short. I'm trying to stop this habit, I'm doing good so far, I don't pull my hair as often and as much as before.

I'm glad you are able to stop that habit, for when you become a Senior Citizen, your hair will fall out all on its own. Though I've seen some Seniors on the bus with lots of hair, lucky people! Take care.

@mrswhitfield You're welcome! Being a Senior Citizen, I take biotin to keep my hair.

grey hairs are normal most especially when it is in the genes.. some young people may even tend to let their hair colored with gray.

Like all habits or mannerism, it gradually develops. With some willpower, you just have to unlearn the habit. Have you consider dying your grey hair instead of pulling them out with tweezers?

My turning point was when I collect all my hairs that I have pulled out in a week. I feel scared I won't have hair left before Im turning 50, so I decided to control my hands, keep them busy. I have to stop it 100%. I have never dyed my hair before...maybe I will give it a try...
