We are finally back home from the eye doctor's. There is good new and there is bad news. The good news is that his left eye has not lost any vision. That is really great news. The bad news is that there is quite a loss of vision in his right eye. That's not a good sign. About ten years ago he had an operation in that eyed and the scar tissue has built up to a large blob. It is obstructing his site. The bad news is that it has cause a little hole in his eye that is effecting his vision. He will be getting a new pair of glasses, they had to be ordered. They are getting back to him about his eye. They say that an operation will not help and they need to research alternatives. I guess we will be waiting to see what they can do. How has your day been so far?

I'll say a prayer for your husband that the God will heal him and give the doctors wisdom.

Sorry to hear about your husband's right eye. I hope they do find alternatives so they can rid the eye of scar tissue. I had an operation on my eye about 10 years ago, and then about 5 years ago I had to go back in and have some of the scar tissue removed. I honestly can't remember if they went in and cut out the scar tissue, or if they blasted is with a laser. I just remember everything being digital or electronic or laser-powered or whatever when I went back in 5 years later. I was impressed with how much the technology had changed in just those 5 years.

@HazySue My doctor told me the same thing about the scar tissue in my eye. He said they are only going to be able to remove it so many times before they can't do it anymore. So far, my eye seems to be doing just fine, so I'm hoping it stays that way for years to come. I hope everything works out well for your husband with his eyesight!

We are keeping our fingers crossed. It has indeed advanced. He has had scar tissue removed but they say they cannot do it again.

@moffittjc I am hoping that that scar tissue keeps staying away. It has plagued my hubby for sometime. I wouldn't wish it on anybody.

Hi Susan. All is well here and I should be sleeping but still doing last minute work. It is good to know that your husband did not lose his sight. Hopefully an alternative will be found for it.

Well , there is no problem even if one eye works properly for him as I have got a nephew who is special child with only one functional eye! he can beat any one in video games! Yes, its too hot here in India with temperatures touching more than 47.5 Celsius !

That's wonderful to hear. I am happy for your nephew. He is affected in both eyes so as the one eye gets worse the other tries to compensate and because of the disease it weakens the eye more rapidly that normal.

I really like it when doctors would say they're searching for alternatives rather than jumping on a trial surgery.
