It's Wednesday morning here and I am having a head ache since I woke up. Its not a hangover. I slept at 1 am and woke up at 7 am so it's not that I didn't had enough sleep.
I don't know what to do as I had ginger tea and thought it will reduce but it had no effect. I consumed two glasses of normal water as someone told that it helps but it also didn't.
Anyone one pls suggest what to do when have head ache when you woke up.

You can rub the part that hurts and try to go back to sleep for another 15 minutes.

@sjvg1976 My headaches are usually due to tension. So a few more minutes of sleep help more than a pill.

Take two biscuits , a cup of hot coffee or tea and then take a painkiller tablet. Lie down for ten minutes. You will be okay. While taking painkillers often and on empty stomach is harmful, you can not completely avoid taking them.

If you slept infront of a/c or air cooler then it may be the side effect of that. In that case a cold is following. This my experience for the last two days. Today I have bad throat on getting up. I drank two glasses of warm water and gargled with salt water. So got relief.
The quick relief for headache is taking steam. I know it is bit difficult since the climate is so hot. But it has its own advantages. Just have a try.

I massage my temples in a circular motion and my nape, sometimes an acidic stomach might be causing it.

Sometimes lying back down and putting on a cold compress on the forehead helps. In any case here is some info about waking up with a headache.
The headache is at the top of my head and moves toward the front. This is only when I first wake up and lasts about an hour.

This happens to me about 4-5 days a week. But it's more of an upper-headache/jaw-ache/all my teeth. Could be because I sleep at all different times, clenching my jaw in my sleep, maybe I quit breathing for a while or something, I don't know...but I just hurry up and eat a little something and then take 1/2 an Ibuprofen and it works like a charm. That 1/2 of Ibuprofen has always worked without fail, so I'm not gonna jinx it. When you wake up with a headache, it means there was some kind of tension going on in your sleep, or possibly sinus issues, or even a very dangerous symptom of (something rare) so I won't ever scare you with it. And don't overlook that it could indeed be from your jaw, esp. if the headache is in the front. The frontal lobe. Sorry, fancy-schmancy medical terms are always dancing around in my head.

Going out for a walk always helps. Fresh air helps. But if I am not able to go out for walk, I take a hot shower and then a little extra nap.
