I Love When Things Come Together

I wanted to work today but thing just got in the way, so I purposed that we gather materials for a job I will get done next week.
The 2 x 8 x 12`s that I needed were just over $11 each, Tony dug in the pile to find four that were straight and without cracked places, I grabbed a five pound box of 20 penny nails for $13. So I am down $57 and that is not to bad. I am sure I would have to have a few more since its the plan to fix the whole room and then some.
Since I have been praying about this for a while I decided to go with my gut feeling and I went and asked the manager something. I asked could I have all those damaged planks half price and he said "Almost, how about $6 each" and then he threw in two more but they were $16 each and are 2 x 8 x 15 for $5 each and nothing is wrong with them but being a little warped.
I was very blessed! I got the 4 new planks for $44 and 10 more, yes 10! for only $58!
That was $120 worth of lumber for $58.
With the 5 pounds of nails and Taxes I paid just $124.
I thank God for answering my prayers.

@andriaperry - true if you deal in long lengths. but useful for a crafty person who , for ex., makes birdhouses.

Usually they bundle and toss outside, or cut the pieces up. Then its not worth anything to me.

I love good deals. I don't recall any recent good deals, but I did have an answer to prayer. My knee is doing much better and I'll be in the fitness center on Monday. 
I just love it when God answers prayer. I'm so happy for you getting that deal.

I am very glad for you. Yes, the good always will get when they ask and there will always be a way for them. I have had lots of signs that I am a good person and keep to my faith. I got some major furniture pieces sold to people before my open house when I needed money the most., My real estate agent got my house sold quick just like promised and he found people who enjoy Latvian artists to purchase some portraits from me to net me more money and to make my move easier. The family that bought the house has two small boys. It will be perfect for them and so I am glad this has happened. That they purchased my house was a sign from above too probably from my love. I found out they were living in a two-room apartment on just the street where my late husband brother lived long ago and we often went to visit so if that isn't a sign I don't know what is.

Thanks, Yes and most of them just have bad edges or a knot on the edge but I will use them as floor joists so no one will see that anyways.

We have been buying lumber, a little here, a little there. It's expensive, to pay full price! Yes, I pray about things similar to what you had to do and God is always faithful, he never fails to answer:)

Always nice to find a bargain. Nothing for me lately except an occasional sale on a food item I like!
