Breakfast at home or on the go?

Breakfast is said to be the most important meal of the day although many people skip it either through lack of time or because they don't feel hungry early in the morning. I have always eaten breakfast at home even before I retired because I would feel weak and shaky if I didn't and definitely wouldn't have time to eat when I got to work as it was too busy. Are you the kind of person who eats first thing in the morning or maybe you will grab a snack on the way out or do you skip it altogether?

We do not have a large breakfast (it's not in the Italian habits), but we have breakfast every morning at home. I cannot start the day without my coffee. I usually serve toasted bread with butter and jam, or a muffin and some fresh fruits or a yogurt and coffee of course.

I sometimes have porridge in the morning although less frequently when the weather is warm. I do like toast and honey though and sometimes I will have a little Greek yoghurt with fruit or a drizzle of honey.

@sprite1950 We both do not like honey, but we like Greek yogurt not sweetened, so it's not a problem. I drink my coffee with no sugar, I like it plain.

I am not a breakfast eater. I got used to it. Although I usually have brunch. I usually wake up late in the morning.

My son never eats breakfast, he will just have a coffee. He's like you and sleeps late.

@Shavkat As long as you eat enough at other times. I couldn't survive on just a coffee though.

@sprite1950 It all started during my time in college days.lol Now, the only difference is that I am working until midnight. With such routine, I usually wake up late in the morning. A cup of coffee will make my day complete.

All of the above. I sometimes will skip breakfast as I don't usually feel hungry when I first get up. If I have to be to work early, I will either take something with me or stop and get something. My days off, I will have something at home if I am hungry.

@morgoodie I absolutely have to eat although I must admit when I am worried or nervous about anything I have to force it down or I know I will start to feel weak. I can't eat much if I have to go on an unfamiliar car journey. I get so anxious.

@sprite1950 If I get up really early for work, then for some reason I am starving like I haven't eaten in days, but if I get up later say 7 or 8 I am not hungry at all. It is weird. I will still have something for breakfast or brunch depending on what time it is. I usually can't go without eating completely.

I have breakfast in two parts most of the time and I donĀ“t eat that much as I eat a bit later than you would in England and that is the main reason.

@sprite1950 I used to suffer a lot of colic as my Mom never fed me herself so it seems. I also lived in a very cold and very damp house as well so that did not help for that kind of thing.

@lovinangelsinstead21 That sounds awful. Things seem to have changed a lot over the years. I remember we had coal fires when I was young but only certain rooms would be warm in the house. Central heating has changed all that.

I skip it altogether but I know that's not recommended and many people definitely feel they need to eat before starting work for the day.

I think your body gets used to the times when you feed it. I could definitely not leave home without it as I would feel weak and shaky.

The banana is sitting on top of some sort of cereal. It's not a picture of my breakfast. I found it on Pixabay.

When I was a school student I took my breakfast most of the times. When I was a college student I skipped it most of the times because of late night sleep. Now sometimes I eat sometimes I skip.

I can't eat right after I wake up. I take my home-made breakfast to my workplace and I eat it there. Sometimes I buy something delicious on my way to work, but it happens ca. once a month.

I am not a breakfast eater. While I do cook breakfast from time to time at home, even if I DO cook it, it is more like a brunch. Most of the time when I eat breakfast foods it is out. Interestingly enough, even when I visit a Denny's, no matter what time of the day it is, I ALWAYS have something off the 24 hour breakfast menu. And it is usually an omelet. Go figure.
