You should have read the last paragraph: (emphasis added) "To conclude this surprising piece of news, we remind you that today is April Fools’ Day.Microsoft is indeed trying to make VR accessible and affordable to the general public, but we have no clue as to what features Windows 12 will bring — and if there will be a Windows 12 OS." Personally, I hope that whenever the next version of Windows comes out, and whatever it is called, that it gets rid of all the annoying stuff that comes with Windows 10. I would very much like to see a stripped-down version (Windows Lite?), that was an operating system and nothing more, made available to those of us who neither need nor want all the bells and whistles.

In that case I will have to admit I was fooled. I did not read the part in quotation marks. I guess it was more wishful thinking on my part. To be honest. I wish I had Windows XP back so I could use my Corel Draw 5.0 because back then I had lots more fun on my computer but When either Me came out or Vista or maybe it was 7, I had to dump that Corel Draw and Photo paint because it doesn't work with 10. And they charge a lot to RENT OFFICE when I used to use Microsoft Works back in the earlier days before mobile internet became so widespread.

@lookatdesktop Yep, I have a few programs that I have had to abandon due to Windows updates. Very annoying. For an office suite (word processing, spreadsheet, presentations) I use OpenOffice - every bit as good as MS, much more intuitive, and FREE. (and you can open MS Office files with it, and if necessary save in MS formats.)

@lynnief , I will look into that option. I am still subscribed to Office 365 at present.
