Rain was predicted and boy did we get it

The weather guessers guessed right this time. There were a few sprinkles on Friday afternoon, then it rained quite a bit overnight. It seemed that Saturday might clear up, but in the afternoon, we had heavy showers alternating with sun.
There was quite a bit of thunder in Portland where my daughter lives, but we heard none here.
It was cold enough this morning that the heat came on and we expect more of the same today. I hope it does not drown my tomato plants.

@LadyDuck Well, that is one good thing. It has rained all weekend here, with more coming later in the week. I won't complain this close to the fire season.

June can be rainy here and we welcome it to keep the fire danger in July and August from being too severe. Sorry you lost sleep.

@JamesHxstatic There. You gained a quarter penny cause I goofed. Friday night. And today: wind and oh boy oh boy, the pump quit again. I'm hoping the neighbor comes home tonight and figures a way for us all to get water.

@JamesHxstatic Thanks. I love how the Irish call a gentle rain 'soft' rain. We get soft rain at home sometimes. When we first moved there we were often surprised to go out and find it misting down.

We were supposed to get storms yesterday into today, but never even got a sprinkle. Hasn't rained since Wednesday or Thursday, I think.

Yes, but that was the last rain we have had, so then the fires started all over the west and the air got smoky. I would love to see more of that rain.

We have light rain going on at this time we had a little hail with a thunderstorm this morning . Earlier this week we had a wind storm and lost a couple of large branches. One on our neighbor's shed.

Just cloudy and kinda cool, that really is my perfect, favorite weather. That's how it is out here in Michigan right now. Did you know I always feel kinda sad whenever the sun is out? I'm not sure why. It could be because I am a very strange girl.

Thanks, that photo is one I took. I don't mind the rain, we get up to 40 inches a year here, so it's a good thing. Interesting about feeling a bit sad in the sunshine.
