The Wall

United States
June 11, 2018 6:12pm CST
During President Trump's campaign to become the 45th President of the United States of America, President Trump talked about wanting to build a wall. He discussed it's use would be to protect all US citizens from invaders that sought to harm them. And also to help control the illegal immigration problem the country has been experiencing for way too long. By now most people understand that a wall is needed. But there are still a few people out there that are still strongly opposed to it. And I'm wondering why. Don't you think security is a good thing? Or is it simply based on not liking President Trump? I would love to hear a good argument for not securing the border.

Hi Redhotpogo. Why wall? Is this in its literal sense?

A literal wall on the southern border of the US to keep people from sneaking in.

I like Trump only I do not think the Wall idea is doable in a realistic sense.

The plans were tested and approved by border agents as well as the military. I'm not going to discuss the past of whatever company gets the contract. Hopefully everything will get straightened out with the small details. My discussion is about why some people are hell bent against it.

To be honest, I'm not exactly for or against it. I think border security is a good thing, but I don't know how a wall would necessarily fix the issue at hand. Like I said, I'm not against it, or for it, I think I would like to hear more ideas on how to handle it.

If the wall was built to look uniform and not interfere with the natural land topography or interfere with animal migrations and was totally cost effective, it could be done along a design curve that would include a national super highway, with a high speed bullet train and adjacent business, with commerce and other infrastructures engineered as part of the overall architectural design, rather than just a normal wall, that can be dug under or climbed over would also require much detail and electronic and man powered surveillance systems.
