Wisdom of an eight year old

Two of our grandsons are here for a couple of days. Landon, the eight year old, was telling me about the Bible story he learned in Children's Church on Sunday at our son's church. He did really well remembering the whole story. Then we got to talking about how God is our heavenly father. He asked about my father and seemed sad when he heard that my dad died when I was eighteen. He thought for a minute, then said, "If God is our heavenly father, then if you don't have a dad here, you've got a back up!" Amen to that.

It is great to talk to little children about God and how he likes us all. He is happy only if we good things and unhappy when we do wrong for any of his creation.

Probably not, but I'd like to think I've been a good influence.

Sometimes, children say something that surprises us. Maybe we underestimate kids.

@1creekgirl They never end, if one isn't coming up with something one of the others is. They keep me laughing all the time.

A big AMEN to that and it is so true.We all have a back up. I work for orphans and I tell this very thing, though in different words.

That's wonderful that you're able to convey the love of their heavenly Father when they don't have one here. May God continue to bless your ministry!

He's a sweetheart even tho he's rather spoiled by his parents. Isn't it strange he behaves better when he's at our house? Hmmm.
