Yesterday I left a message for the big man, after three hours and on the way through the area, I stopped by the office and left a copy of the problem, just so he knew I was not being dramatic. I am talking about the doctor office taking my money and paying it on someones else`s account, the new lady messed up, not looking at Tony`s first name or birthday. I now have the address of the other guy, I now know this guy goes to the doctor at the same place. So does this break the Hippa law? I wonder if she scanned the new paperwork into his file? It states that I have permission to get information about his medical case. When I arrived back at home I turned the phone off and went to sleep, when I woke and checked he had left a message, that it was all straightened out and my money was not applied to the other guys account and I did not have to stop payment, BUT he failed to answer the other question Tony wanted answered, AND he said he was sorry this would not happen again that he did speak with the new lady, and for us to remember she is new. I was thinking WTH? Being new is not an excuse for what happened, there was NO reason for that to have happened. I know the lady, not her competence, I went to school with her sister and we were friends and we did grow up in the same neighborhood. I did not chat about knowing her till she got Tony signed in and called me back up for source of payment. What do you think? Did she break the law and is Mr. big covering?

Accidents do happen, but that is a big one. Hopefully she learns from it. But as for breaking the law, I dont think intent was involved so it would be hard to say.

@andriaperry But if it would continue then you should. It could be a big problem if the wrong people received someone elses info. Hopefully this time they did not. But I would keep it recorded in case. So if a problem would arise that traced back to there.

Not only is this a huge breach in privacy but it makes you wonder how often things like this go on in any doctors office. Hopefully the records will be correctly straightened out as well as the payment. Good thing you caught the mistake

This doesn't sound very good. I'm glad the money part at least is straightened out.

I think you have a right to be upset. Yes she made a huge mistake. It makes me wonder if she has done this to others with same last name. She at the least should have asked birthday, first name, show some type of identification

OH! See we have to fill out a thing with EVERYTHING on it, full name, address, birth date and even SS number. Appointment time and arrival time.
